After a very cold hard winter, and then a very warm spring, we knew that the 2011 Chelsea Flower Show would be very challenging, and indeed many of the plants that we had prepared for the show flowered too early, and were past their best before we even left for the show. However, this also meant that some of the later flowering cultivars that we had expected to struggle to get into flower early enough were at their peak at just the right time, and there were also plenty of plants in flower around the nursery to choose from to fill in for those that had peaked too early.
It was therefore a great relief to see the display looking so good once the stand started to come together, and to be awarded our fifth consecutive GOLD MEDAL really was the icing on the cake.
