Cultivars belonging to the Integrifolia Group includes non-clinging scramblers
For other herbaceous Clematis see the Heracleifolia Group and Recta Group - see links above
These herbaceous cultivars are clump-forming scramblers derived form the integrifolia species clematis. In general they have non-clinging stems and they can be allowed to scramble in herbaceous borders. They also make excellent companions in beds of bush roses. The stems vary in length from approximately 1ft to 8ft, depending on the cultivar.
The shorter growing cultivars are good 'front of border' plants whilst the taller cultivars can be used to clamber through open shrubs, small trees, rambler and shrub roses, or obelisks.
They are all hardy, very free flowering, die back in winter and are suitable for use as cut flowers.
