Herbaceous clematis have been around for many years and are becoming more popular every year. There are three groups: Diversifolia, Heracleifolia and Integrifolia although there are also some members of the Flammula group that behave as herbaceous plants so those will be listed below as well. 'Praecox' is a unique plant that makes excellent ground cover and is a favourite of Monty Don in his garden Longmeadow.
